“Battle Tested Warrior” Kevin Bishop Earns Major Conservative Endorsement

Kevin Bishop today earned the most significant conservative group endorsement thus far in South Carolina’s Third Congressional District Republican primary.

Susan B. Anthony (SBA) Pro-Life America officially endorsed Kevin Bishop for Congress.  The endorsement was made on X.

“Our friend @KevinDBishop is a battle-tested warrior for unborn babies and moms,” said SBA Pro Life America.  “He’s been on the front lines of the biggest battles for Life as a key staffer and is now ready to lead the charge in Congress.  That’s why we are proud to endorse him in the SC3 primary.”

“I am honored and humbled to have the endorsement of the leading pro-life organization in the country, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America,” said Bishop.  “They are leaders in the pro-life movement and have worked tirelessly to move the country in support of life.  Their endorsement speaks volumes about my record, beliefs, and how I will advocate for our pro-life values in Congress.”

Bishop noted that as a top aide to Senator Lindsey Graham he has a long record in support of the pro-life cause.  He played an active role in the Senate confirmations of Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, Samuel Alito, and Chief Justice John Roberts. These justices later gave us the Supreme Court Dobbs decision which returned the issue of Life back to the people. Bishop also played a supporting role in efforts to pass the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and Unborn Victims of Violence Act.

On pro-life issues Bishop:

  • Supports a 15-week national minimum standard in Congress after which abortion is no longer allowed.  Some states currently have no or few limits on when abortions can be performed.  A 15-week national minimum standard would bring the United States in line with many European nations that have similar bans.
  • Supports South Carolina’s 6-week abortion ban.
  • Opposes legislation introduced in the South Carolina House of Representatives, H. 3549 the South Carolina Equal Protection Act of 2023, which calls for the death penalty for a woman who has an abortion.

“I would never support the death penalty for a woman who has an abortion,” concluded Bishop.  “I would certainly never sponsor legislation to do that at the federal or state level.  It is bad policy and bad politics.  It may be good for getting clicks online, but extreme and shocking legislation like that ultimately hurts the pro-life cause.”
